Huntington Beach State Park just outside Pawley's Island, SC is a great place to get close to wading birds and alligators. (I much prefer one to the other, especially while on foot-) The causeway into the park is the dividing line between saltwater and freshwater, so you'll usually have gators cruising on one side and egrets and cormorants fishing the other- and for some reason, all tend to ignore photographers along the walkway. |
