Currently on tour with the 2008 PaintAmerica Top 100 winners, this was painted after a visit to a friend's family farm near Massanutten mountain in VA. The aim of the competition was to illustrate the states, and I felt this scene, with its keyhole porch rail, porch swing, gaslight and tractor in the shed was a beautiful illustration of Old Va. I could just imagine Grandma scooting the barn cat over to sit on the swing and ask, "Come set awhile..."
