Driving the back roads of northeastern North Carolina can be like a glimpse back in time. On
this day I?d seen several beautiful old barns refurbished with sparkling new tin roofs- it was
distressing to see! As I imagined the wide gulf between my artist?s viewpoint and a working farmer?s, I happened upon this beautiful blue tractor in a lean-to. Time had dimmed the blue paint with a powdery patina and occasional patch of rust, but it still looked well-used and ready to turn over the field- even a little full of attitude. Time and use may add a little rust here and there, but true beauty is only magnified. |
