Painted from a plein air study and my photographs, this captures a moment during my plein air session. The croaking ravens in a tree above me called my attention away from the canvas just in time to watch a bald eagle soar across the valley and land almost nonchalantly on the tiniest top branches of a dead pine at the water's edge. Over 100 degrees that day, I also watched a huge bull bison swim across the Yellowstone and climb the bluff behind me. |
