Little Dipper

This bird, the American Dipper or Ousel, is probably more familiar to trout fishermen than to birders as it favors high, clear mountain streams. Feeding on the same insects and fish that trout feed on, a dipper will bob up and down a time or two then with a flip, dive into water so powerful it's difficult to wade in- and casually walk upstream and underwater, hunting as it goes.
