I deeply love the wild places and the creatures that inhabit them. I paint scenes of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Smokies, the Shenandoah and the Rockies. Patches of wildflowers, mossy old-growth trees, wild trout chasing mayflies, white-tail deer in a misty meadow, tin-roofed barns, turkies ambling up a remote Forest Road, grizzly encounters and cold mountain streams- I see some beautiful things on my trips and like to bring them back to share with you on canvas and paper. Here on my blog I'll share some of the photos I've taken and show you some of the process of creating my artwork. There's often a good story to go with each painting and a reason behind each inspiration….
