More About Me-
I am a working artist living in the foothills of the beautiful Blue Ridge mountains in SW Virginia. I've spent a couple decades creating artwork and designs for textiles for the likes of Martha Stewart and Ralph Lauren and now paint fine art for walls as well as for home furnishings and tee shirts. My paintings can be seen in several corporate collections as well as several fine galleries across the region, including: The Germanton Gallery(http://www.germantongallery.com/gallerydetail.asp?ID=136 ); Seaside Art Gallery (http://www.seasideart.com/Artist.aspx?id=108 ); The Little Gallery ( http://thelittlegallerysml.com/cgi-bin/rm/exec/search.cgi?user_num=195&search=1 ); and Artistic Designs Gallery (http://www.artisticdesignsgalleryinc.com/Home/tabid/76/Default.aspx). I like to paint in oils for the richness of color and texture, but also work in acrylics and watercolors, especially for crisp details in tiny miniatures or plein air painting when I'm traveling.
I worked as an Orvis-endorsed fly fishing guide in NC for many years and currently am Captain of the Remington Ladies Sporting Clays Team, "The Remington Girls".
I fly fish, enjoy shotgun sports and the occasional bird hunt (LOVE to watch those dogs work a field!), backpack, camp, hike (if there's a trout stream at the end
, travel, paint, read about the places I love, and work at restoring bits of my 1940's-era house and wooded trails. My little house in the woods has been visited by many types of birds as well as deer, bats, possums and raccoons, many of which I've relocated to new habitats!- it's always a bit of an adventure, even while I'm at home…
